A dynamic individual with proven leadership qualities, Dewan Mohammad Yousuf Farooqui is the driving force behind the YDC’s major expansion and diversification initiatives.
A graduate of the Government College of Commerce and Economics, Karachi, he joined the family-run business at an early age. By the time he was in his twenties, he was responsible for an independent industrial unit. His span of responsibilities continued to grow steadily, culminating in his current responsibility for the entire group.
In March 23, 2005 his enormous contribution to the national economy was recognized in the award of the 'Sitara-e-Imtiaz' (The Star of Excellence) by the President of Pakistan.
He is the founder & co-chief patron of the Pakistan Korea Business Forum, a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Pak France Business Alliance.
From 1999 to 2003 he remained a Minister in the Sindh Provincial Government for Industries, Labor, Transport, Mines & Mineral Development, Local Government, and Housing & Town Planning. He was also the Minister for Finance and Information, Government of Sindh.
